Elementary parents and guardians,
Every year the ladies in the cafeteria make a fabulous Thanksgiving meal where parents can come sit, eat and fellowship with their son(s) and daughter(s). Just a reminder, due to COVID restrictions, this year no parents or guardians are allowed to eat with their student(s) at this time.
Thank you,
Rene Villegas
Elementary School Principal

It is with profound sadness that we announce that Crosbyton CISD will not be in a position to host our Veteran's Day Assembly this year.
It now becomes a personal mission for each of us to reach out to our veterans to let them know how much we appreciate them. We pray that each of you will do just that.
Thank you Veterans. While we will be apart this Veterans Day, we will hold you dear in our hearts as we give thanks for your service and sacrifice.

Parents Night for Seniors will be this Friday in between the Varsity games.

Chieftain Nation,
Over the past several days we have seen an increase in COVID-19 positive cases in our community and secondary school. In response, the Crosbyton CISD custodial and maintenance staff has worked throughout the weekend to disinfect and deep clean our buildings. Our teachers and staff members will continue to require students to wear masks, and observe other measures to help prevent the spread of the virus during school hours.
We are asking that, as a community, you assist us in preventing the spread of this devastating virus. Please wear your mask in public places, and observe social distancing guidelines when you are with others outside of your immediate household. We also ask that when you have a student in your home that has been placed in quarantine that you keep them in your home as much as possible. If you allow these students to leave the house, and attend social gatherings with their peers you are placing others at risk of contracting the virus through close contact, and are defeating the purpose of the quarantine.
If the number of cases in our secondary school continues to rise at the current rate, we will have to consider closing the campus and placing the students in remote learning. We will use this as a last resort because we have learned through this semester that this is not a learning model that our students are successful with, and we fear they will regress academically. This will also cause all extracurricular activities to stop. This would include basketball for both the boys and girls, cross country, FFA, and band. Our students have put in a great deal of work into each of these activities, and we very much want them to be able to compete in the contests that they have been preparing for.
We will continue to follow the guidance from the Texas Education Agency, and the Department of State Health Services when we make decisions concerning COVID-19 cases at school, and we will do everything possible to mitigate the spread of the virus. We are asking you to join us in this effort to keep our students and community safe during these unprecedented times. By working together we can slow the spread of this virus, and allow our students to have a positive school experience.
Shawn Mason
Superintendent

Basketball season begins tomorrow for our girls teams as we take on Spur at 10:00 a.m. The spectator guidelines below have been developed to help mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 virus. We ask that you follow these guidelines when you attend basketball games at CHS to help protect the health of our student athletes.

2. Temperatures will be checked before entering the gym.
3. Everyone will be required to wear a face covering that covers the nose and mouth in the seating area of the gym.

The 2020 Agricultural Advocacy Team of Canyon Ware, Heavenly Vega, Shay Hollums and Alek Sandoval has had a busy week so far with one more competition on Saturday before they compete at district level.
On Tuesday, November 3rd, the team alongside Ms. Barbee traveled to Snyder ISD and competed against 7 other teams. They were awarded 1st place. This placing was very special for us because of COVID we were faced with last minute changes. The students stepped up to the plate and took on a new roll with less than a 48 hour notice.
On Wednesday, November 4th, the full team competed on campus through a new virtual style of contest. The competition was held by Tarleton State and there was 28 teams total in two heats. Our Crosbyton FFA Chapter came out in 4th place for their heat.
They have one more contest to compete in on Saturday 11/07, with Texas A&M University. We wish them the best of luck!
